The Institute of Open Science Practices (IOSP) is part living conference, part software, and part professional society. We are a community of interdisciplinary researchers. We scale and utilize novel technical infrastructure to make better, faster, more inclusive and open science. IOSP pushes scientific practice beyond the pdf.
IOSP is a platform that showcases open science, exposes researchers to ground-breaking technology, and connects technologists with the critical feedback they need to help drive society toward a more transparent and collaborative scientific enterprise.
The IOSP Process
We onboard scientists to existing technologies that make Open Science the default. Step one in our process is to have researchers submit all of their digital materials, not just their PDFs on a platform that aggregates all research artifacts into a single digital object. Second, we distribute review, make it open, and evaluate research on criteria meant to establish accurate + reproducible scientific process over results that wow.
During the whole process, all changes will be tracked using persistent identifiers and version tracking. We'll build a Machine readable schema of the important metadata, making every paper accessible to autonomous agents. Then, we’ll take what broke and fix it in collaboration with those tools after the conference.
